Four Situations Where Ready to Feed Changes Everything

Hospital

The First Days Postpartum

In the hours and days after birth, the last thing a new parent needs is to locate a kettle, measure water, and count scoops. Ready to Feed removes every friction point from feeding, letting parents focus entirely on their newborn. Many neonatal units and maternity wards use Ready to Feed formats for exactly this reason.

Night Feeds

2am With Zero Preparation

Nighttime feeds on powdered formula mean waking fully, boiling water, waiting for it to cool, measuring scoops, and testing temperature, all while exhausted. Ready to Feed eliminates the process entirely. Keep bottles at room temperature on the nightstand, shake when needed, done in seconds. No light switches, no waiting.

Travel

Flights, Long Drives, and Days Out

Traveling with powdered formula requires carrying a measured water source, a way to heat it, and the powder itself. Ready to Feed needs none of that. Each 200ml bottle is self-contained, sterile, and shelf-stable until opened. International flights, road trips, and restaurant visits all become significantly simpler with a bag of pre-filled bottles.

Precision

Identical Concentration Every Feed

Powdered formula concentration depends on accurate scooping: a packed scoop or an incorrect water measurement changes the calorie and nutrient density of the bottle. Ready to Feed eliminates this variable entirely. Every bottle is mixed industrially to exact specification, so the nutrient profile is identical feed to feed, regardless of who prepares it or when.

How to Use Ready to Feed

No boiling, no measuring, no mixing required. The entire preparation is four steps. Each bottle is sterile until opened and can be stored at room temperature before use.

1 Wash hands Clean hands before handling the bottle or nipple.
2 Shake the bottle Shake well to ensure the formula is evenly mixed before opening.
3 Attach nipple and check temperature Attach a sterilized nipple adapter. Test on your wrist. Room temperature formula is fine for most babies. If warming, use a bottle warmer or place in warm water - never microwave.
4 Feed immediately Once opened, use the entire bottle in a single feeding session. Do not store or reheat opened bottles.

Each bottle is 200ml. For newborns in the first weeks, a full 200ml bottle may be more than one feed - discard any unused formula after the feeding session. Store unopened bottles below 25°C / 77°F, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Expiration date printed in European format DD/MM/YYYY.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Ready to Feed formula nutritionally identical to HiPP German PRE powder?

Yes. The Combiotic formula, GOS prebiotics, natural lactic cultures, LCPs including DHA, and all vitamin and mineral levels are the same in both formats. The difference is purely in how it is delivered to you. The Ready to Feed version is mixed and sealed industrially under sterile conditions, while the powder version requires home preparation.

Does the bottle need to be warmed before feeding?

No. Most babies accept formula at room temperature without any issue, particularly newborns who are not yet accustomed to a specific temperature. If your baby prefers warm formula, place the sealed or opened bottle in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes or use a bottle warmer. Never use a microwave, which heats unevenly and can create hot spots that burn a baby's mouth.

Can I use half a bottle and store the rest?

No. Once a bottle is opened, any unused formula must be discarded. Unlike powder, Ready to Feed formula contains no preservatives and is only sterile in its sealed state. For smaller newborn feeds in the first weeks, this means some formula will be wasted per bottle. Factoring this in is worth it for the convenience and sterility guarantee the format provides.

How many bottles do I need per day for a newborn?

Newborns typically feed 7 to 8 times per day in the early weeks, though individual feed volume varies considerably by age and weight. In the first weeks a single 200ml bottle may be used across two shorter feeds. By weeks 5 to 8, one bottle per feed is more typical. Most families use 4 to 7 bottles per day, meaning a 36-bottle order lasts roughly 5 to 9 days for a newborn on full formula feeding.

Can I combine Ready to Feed with powdered formula?

Yes. Many families use Ready to Feed for overnight feeds, travel, or the early postpartum weeks, and switch to powder for home daytime feeds where preparation is straightforward. Both formats deliver the same formula, so rotating between them does not affect nutritional consistency for the baby.

How do I read the expiration date on the bottle?

HiPP prints dates in European format DD/MM/YYYY. All bottles shipped from Infantiz carry a minimum of 3 months shelf life from dispatch date. Store at room temperature below 25°C / 77°F. Do not freeze.

Important Notice: Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for your baby. This formula is intended as a supplement or alternative when breastfeeding is not possible. Once opened, use the full bottle immediately and discard any remainder. Do not microwave. Do not freeze. Consult your pediatrician before introducing any formula. Expiration date is printed in European format DD/MM/YYYY.

Advantages
Perfect for overnight feeds, no lights, no kitchen, no waiting, had everything ready on the nightstand and it took about 30 seconds per feed
Disadvantages
The 200ml size is slightly too large for a single newborn feed in the first few weeks so there is some waste per bottle
Comment
My wife and I split the night feeds and the Ready to Feed bottles made the whole process so much calmer. I kept six bottles at room temperature on the nightstand and just went through them. Same HiPP formula we use during the day in powder form, so we knew exactly what our daughter was getting. Worth the extra cost for the first month without question.

Advantages
Absolute lifesaver in the hospital and the first week home, no preparation at all, our son took it without any fussiness
Disadvantages
More expensive per 100ml than the powder, which adds up if you use it as your only formula long term
Comment
We had planned to breastfeed exclusively but that did not work out the way we expected. The nurses at the hospital showed us these bottles and we ordered a case immediately. For the first two weeks we used nothing else. The fact that you just shake it and go is genuinely invaluable when you have not slept in three days. We eventually switched to the powder at home to save money but still keep a few bottles for nights and travel.
