★ HiPP German Stage 1 - Organic Infant Formula, Pre-Mixed and Ready in Seconds

  • No preparation - sterile and pre-mixed from the factory - shake, attach a nipple, feed. No boiling water, no scooping, no measuring. Especially useful for night feeds, travel, and the first days home from the hospital.
  • Palm oil free - cream replaces it as the fat source - unlike the powder version, this Ready to Feed formula uses cream as the third ingredient. No palm oil means better fat absorption and softer stools for many babies.
  • Metafolin instead of folic acid - HiPP uses Metafolin (calcium L-methylfolate), the same bioactive form of folate found in breast milk. It does not need to be converted by the body before it can support cell division and tissue growth.
  • DHA 13.4mg + ARA 13.4mg per 100ml - long-chain fatty acids supporting brain development and visual acuity during the most critical growth window of the first six months.
  • GOS prebiotics 0.3g + lactic cultures - the full Combiotic system supports gut microbiome development and stool regularity, mirroring the protective effect of prebiotics naturally present in breast milk.

For parents who want HiPP German quality without the preparation steps. Each 200ml bottle is complete, sterile, and ready the moment your baby is hungry.

What Makes Stage 1 Ready to Feed Different

Palm Oil Free

Why No Palm Oil Matters

The powder version of HiPP German Stage 1 contains palm oil as part of its fat blend. The Ready to Feed version replaces it entirely with cream - a natural dairy fat source. This matters because palm oil in infant formula can form insoluble soaps with calcium in the gut, potentially reducing calcium absorption and causing firmer stools. The RTF version sidesteps this entirely. Cream provides palmitic acid in the same sn-2 position as in breast milk fat, making it more bioavailable and digestible.

Metafolin

Premium Folate - Directly Bioavailable

Most infant formulas use standard folic acid, which must be converted through multiple metabolic steps before the body can use it. HiPP Stage 1 RTF uses Metafolin - calcium L-methylfolate - the same active form of folate found naturally in breast milk. For babies with reduced capacity to metabolize folic acid (a genetic variation affecting a meaningful share of the population), Metafolin works immediately without conversion. It supports cell division, tissue growth, and neural development from the first feed.

GOS 0.3g

Combiotic - Prebiotics and Probiotics Together

HiPP's Combiotic system pairs galacto-oligosaccharide (GOS) prebiotic fiber with natural lactic cultures - specifically Lactobacillus Fermentum Hereditum, a strain originally identified in breast milk research. GOS feeds beneficial gut bacteria while the lactic cultures help establish and maintain a healthy microbiome. Together they support stool regularity, gut barrier integrity, and early immune system development during the window when the microbiome is most actively being shaped.

DHA 13.4mg

Long-Chain Fatty Acids for Brain and Vision

HiPP Stage 1 RTF provides DHA at 13.4mg per 100ml alongside an equal amount of ARA. DHA is the primary structural fat in brain tissue and the retina. The first six months of life represent the most rapid period of brain growth outside the womb, and dietary DHA during this window is associated with better visual acuity and cognitive outcomes. ARA supports cell membrane structure and plays a role in the inflammatory response system central to immune development.

How to Use - No Equipment Required

Each bottle is sterile and factory pre-mixed. Nothing to boil, nothing to measure. Suitable for home, hospital, travel, and overnight feeds.

1 Wash hands Clean hands before handling the bottle or nipple.
2 Shake well Shake the sealed bottle before opening to ensure even distribution.
3 Attach nipple and warm if needed Attach a sterilized nipple adapter. Most babies accept room temperature. To warm, place in warm water or use a bottle warmer. Never use a microwave.
4 Feed immediately, discard remainder Use the full bottle in a single session. Do not store or reheat any unused formula once opened. Opened bottles stored in the refrigerator at 4-6°C may be used within 24 hours if sealed.

Feed as often and as much as your baby wants during the first months - Stage 1 can be used on demand like breast milk. From the 5th month onwards, solid foods may be introduced alongside formula with pediatric guidance. Expiration date in European format DD/MM/YYYY. Store unopened below 25°C / 77°F.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Stage PRE and Stage 1 Ready to Feed?

Both are suitable from birth, but they differ in a few meaningful ways. Stage 1 RTF is palm oil free - it uses cream instead - and contains Metafolin rather than standard folic acid. Stage PRE RTF has a slightly higher protein content (1.6g vs 1.3g) and can be used beyond 6 months without switching. Stage 1 is capped at 6 months before transitioning to Stage 2. If avoiding palm oil or wanting Metafolin is a priority, Stage 1 RTF has the advantage. Both deliver the full Combiotic prebiotic and probiotic system.

How many bottles per day does a newborn need?

In the first two weeks, expect 7-8 feeds per day at around 70ml per feed. By weeks 3-4 this typically settles to 5-7 feeds at 100ml. By the 3rd to 4th month most babies are on 5 feeds per day at 170ml. Each 200ml bottle covers a full feed at most stages - in the first two weeks a single bottle may cover two shorter feeds. Feed on demand during the early months rather than watching the clock.

Can I store an opened bottle in the fridge?

Yes, with one condition. If you seal the opened bottle and refrigerate it immediately at 4-6°C, it can be used within 24 hours. This is different from powder formula, where any prepared bottle must be discarded within 2 hours at room temperature or 24 hours refrigerated. The key rule for RTF: do not leave an open bottle at room temperature. Use it, seal it, refrigerate it, or discard it.

What does EU Organic certification mean for this formula?

EU Organic (DE-OKO-001) requires that all agricultural ingredients come from farms meeting strict organic standards - no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers, and regulated animal welfare conditions. For infant formula, this applies to the milk, lactose, and vegetable oils. EU Organic standards are stricter than the US USDA Organic equivalent in several areas, particularly regarding permitted processing aids and livestock management.

When should I switch from Stage 1 to Stage 2?

Stage 1 is designed for the first six months. When your baby begins solid foods - typically around 6 months with pediatric guidance - Stage 2 formula is formulated to complement the transition to solids, with higher iron content to compensate for the natural depletion of iron stores that occurs around this time. There is no need to rush the switch; the key trigger is the introduction of solids, not a specific date.

How do I read the expiration date on the bottle?

HiPP prints expiration dates in European format: DD/MM/YYYY. A date reading 09/06/2026 means 9th June 2026. Ready to Feed formula has a shorter shelf life than powder - this is normal for a sterile liquid product. All bottles shipped from Infantiz carry a minimum of 3 months shelf life from dispatch.

Important Notice: Breastfeeding is the best nutrition for your baby. HiPP German Stage 1 Ready to Feed is suitable from birth to 6 months. Once opened, use immediately or seal and refrigerate at 4-6°C for use within 24 hours. Do not microwave. Do not freeze. Store unopened below 25°C / 77°F. Expiration date in European format DD/MM/YYYY. Always consult your pediatrician before introducing infant formula.

Advantages
The palm oil free formula made a real difference for our daughter's digestion compared to the powder version we tried first, and having it ready to go with no preparation is a huge deal at 3am
Disadvantages
The shelf life is shorter than powder so you need to plan your orders a bit more carefully
Comment
We started on the HiPP German powder but our daughter was having firmer stools than we expected. A pediatric dietitian mentioned that the RTF version is palm oil free because it uses cream instead, and within a week of switching we noticed a real difference. The no-prep aspect is honestly just a bonus at this point - we switched for the formula itself, not the convenience. We do have to order more frequently because of the shorter shelf life but it is completely worth it.

Advantages
Knowing the bottle is factory sealed and sterile every time takes a lot of the anxiety out of feeding, and our son has been doing really well on it since week one
Disadvantages
I wish there was a smaller trial pack available before committing to 36 bottles
Comment
My wife had some difficulties breastfeeding in the first week and we needed to supplement quickly. We did not have time to research powder options so we went with the HiPP Stage 1 RTF because it was ready immediately. Two months later we are still on it and have had no digestion issues, no fussiness, no rash. The Metafolin detail was something our pediatrician actually pointed out as a positive, she said it is the same form of folate the body actually uses, which is a real difference from most formulas.
